The first half of 2019 saw Christie’s strengthen its leadership in the Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art沙巴体育在线 market as sales in London, New York, Hong Kong and Paris achieved a total of £92.2 million (approximately HK$910 million).
The Asian Art Week season at Christie’s New York in March realised nearly $80 million / HK$619 million, with the highly anticipated Lacquer, Jade, Bronze, Ink: The Irving Collection沙巴体育在线 sales more than doubling the aggregate estimate.

The Spring Sales in Hong Kong, which took place in May, also recorded encouraging results as the Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art sales realised almost HK$400 million. The top lot, a pair of wood figures of standing Bodhisattvas from the Glories of Buddhist Art sale, achieved more than HK$45 million.
In June, the Asian Art Week in Paris sold a gilt-bronze figure of Guhyasadhana Lokeshvara for €910,000 / HK$ 8,1 million, far exceeding its estimate. These remarkable results continued in London with a magnificent lacquer throne沙巴体育在线 from the Qianlong period, which fetched over £6.1 million / HK$60 million, more than six times its low estimate.
