Russian Art

Christie’s Russian Art auctions offer the finest examples of Fabergé, porcelain, bronze, silver and militaria, as well as paintings and works on paper by the most important artists and craftsmen from the 18th century to the present day.

In June 2019, Christie’s marked our 50th anniversary of Russian Art auctions with the spectacular sale of Petrov-Vodkin’s Still life with lilac for £9,286,250, the highest price ever recorded in a Russian Art sale. This success was mirrored by Christie’s dominance in the field of Fabergé and Russian Works of Art, where every season we continue to achieve record-breaking prices. We hold the world auction record for a Russian work of art, having sold the Rothschild Fabergé Egg for £8,980,500 in 2007.

Christie’s reputation for exceptional provenance and outstanding sale performance is affirmed by our historic sales of distinguished collections, including those of the Romanoff family, HRH Princess Margaret, the Royal House of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha and the Rothschild family, as well as the world auction records we have achieved for more than 60 of the leading Russian artists.

Whether looking to consign to auction or sell privately, our global team of specialists based in London, New York and Paris would be delighted to offer a free valuation and confidential advice.
